Infosys Beats TCS, Wipro To Become #1 Indian IT Firm To Get H1B Visas; Only 3 Indian Firms In Top 10 H1B List

A recent survey finding has shown that only three out of the top ten companies that received H-1B visas are Indian. Whereas, US technology companies have received the highest number of H-1B visas.

Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and Wipro are the only three Indian companies that stand in the top ten list to get H-1B visa. 

The rules of the H-1B visa have been made a lot stricter than before, under the Donald Trump-led organization. There have also been speculations that Donald Trump has been partial to companies of the US origin and granted them more H-1B visas that companies of foreign origin. The spouses of H-1B visa holders have also been prohibited from working in the US.

Survey By The Office of Foreign Labor Certification

This survey was conducted by the Office of Foreign Labor Certification, which has revealed that only three Indian companies have managed to be a part of the top ten companies that have secured the most number of H-1B visas. 

The results are from the data collected over a span of the first three quarters of the fiscal year 2019. The states that they have focused on are California, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Washington, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, which are the primary locations. 

The data findings have also stated the occupations for which the H-1B visa has been granted, which are: software developers (applications), computer systems analysts, computer occupations (all others), software developers, electronics engineers (except computer), operations research analysts, computer programmers, management analysts, mechanical engineers and statisticians (classified in the same order). 

Deloitte, Apple, Cognizant, Infosys, and Qualcomm have ranked the top five in the list, followed by Kforce, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Cisco and Amazon.com.
