Delivering Premium On A Budget

With the upcoming Realme 5 series, the company is again aiming to deliver some really good smartphones on a budget. While the top flagships now come with more sensors and improved cameras, the new Realme 5 series aim to gap up the space. There are no other budget smartphones available in India currently offering a quad camera system.

Also, we need to evaluate how good are you the cameras. Adding megapixels and sensors will not be enough to produce quality images.

While Realme maintains a good reputation of offering quality camera performance, there’s a lot riding on Realme 5 series. With no other smartphone in the segment offering any such feature, the Realme 5 series will hold a definite advantage over the competitors.

Not Only Cameras, Realme 5 Series Will Have All-Rounder Smartphones

While the new Realme devices will see a huge jump in terms of imaging quality, it has a lot more to offer than just cameras. Definitely the quad camera is its main USP, but the company will again be delivering budget killers without cutting corners in any department.

Coming to performance, the Realme 5 has been leaked just ahead of launch sporting a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

A Geekbench listing has revealed that Realme 5 will come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. It’s the same chip which powers the upcoming Xiaomi mid-ranger, the third generation Mi A3 smartphone. The top-end Realme 5 Pro may come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 710 or Snapdragon 712 chip.

Not Three, But Four Rear Cameras: Realme 5 Series

Realme has been in business for just over a year, and they have a good line of budget devices. The company upgraded dual cameras with Realme 2 series, and will now upgrade to four cameras with Realme 5 series. Interestingly, they don’t have any smartphone which comes with three cameras or a triple camera system.

They are directly jumping to a quad camera system with Realme 5 series to stay ahead in the curve.

India has only a handful of smartphones which come with more than three cameras. Now with Realme launching quad-camera smartphones in the country, soon this is expected to become a mainstream trend. Even the market leader Xiaomi doesn’t have any smartphone with four rear cameras.

First Four Camera Budget Smartphones In India

Realme 5 series will probably be the first budget series smartphones in the world to come with four camera systems. The upcoming series will include two smartphones (as of now): Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, to be further added by other toned-down budget variants in the future.

The primary image sensors on Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will be able to capture some breathtaking low-light pictures.

The sensors will come with larger aperture and pixel size, helping the Realme 5 smartphones to offer top-notch imaging technology. The ultra-wide angle lens on Realme 5 series will be able to capture 119-degree field of view and capture 1.5x more area.

Further, there will be a super-macro lens to click some great macro in-sight sbots, while the fourth depth sensor will help to add in accurate sharpness and offer clear portrait shots.

The Four Camera Magic: Can It Break It Right?

Recently the company CEO posted a four numbered jumble for the fans to guess the sensors: 4+48+586+119. The ‘4’ refers to four camera sensors or the quad camera setup on the upcoming Realme 5 series, while the ’48’ and ‘586’ indicates that the phones will feature a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor.

The company used the same imaging sensor on it’s last entry-flagship, Realme X. Finally, the ‘119’ number refers to the 119-degree ultra wide-angle lens.

Both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will come with quad camera setups. The high-resolution 48MP sensor will only come with Realme 5 Pro, while the other sensors including the 4cm macro and telephoto cameras are expected to remain standard to offer some top-notch smartphone camera experience.

Keeping The Prices Right

As per some leaks, Realme 5 will be priced at Rs 8,999, the same price as Realme 3. This seems very uptight, but it will come at around 10,000 rupees. Realme 5 will come with an HD+ display, a new Qualcomm processor and a quad camera setup including a 16MP primary camera, an ultra wide-angle camera, a 4cm macro lens and a depth sensor.

In comparison, Realme 5 Pro will come at around Rs 15,000, or probably at the same price as newly launched Realme X.

Realme 5 will have the same water drop display, while the Realme 5 Pro is rumoured to come with an AMOLED display, a pop-up selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor. These are rumours, and the company is yet to officially confirm the features and details.
