Realme-Redmi War Continues: Realme vs Redmi In Budget Segment

While Xiaomi continues to stay on top of the list of the top smartphone brands in the country, it’s been one of their slowest quarters in terms of growth. Surprisingly, the big four of the BBK (Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Realme) has the highest market share combined. Samsung has been shrinking quarter after quarter.

Once a market leader in India, now stands with a 25 percent market share.

Xiaomi India stands with a 29 percent market share, and the four combined has a 30 percent market share. As all these four brands: Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Realme operate separately as independent brands in India, their market shares are reported individually.

Of all, Realme is going very strong. It remains the highest growing brand in India in terms of shipments, and this doesn’t seem to slow down.

Xiaomi India has to take this seriously. The company enjoyed a monopoly-like dominance in the market with its affordable quality smartphones beating Samsung to the number one smartphone brand in the country. Now Realme is doing the same, and at times, they offer better smartphones at more affordable prices.

Recently, Redmi K20 series was criticised severely and were labelled as being overpriced. On the other hand, Realme X was helmed as a winner in the same mid-range space. Xiaomi can’t go wrong again with it’s upcoming Redmi 7 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro or Redmi gaming phone. Fans are watching!
