The ex-Oppo sub-brand Realme is now India’s one of the most favourite smartphone brands. It’s been in business just a little over a year, but has successfully placed itself as one of the biggest competitors in a dynamic smartphone industry mainly led by Xiaomi, Samsung and others.

The current offerings of Realme include entry-level budget devices to mid-range smartphones and a single upper mid-range device.

The company plans to expand aggressively in the next few months with top-level smartphones including a couple of entry-premium flagships and even a gaming smartphone.

Realme has already signed up a few deals with US chipmaker Qualcomm to use some of their best chips as Snapdragon 730, Snapdragon 855 and the just-announced Snapdragon 855 Plus. At the same time, the company will also keep launching fresh budget smartphones in the Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 range.

Here are some of the upcoming Realme smartphones set to launch in 2019-20.

Contents

Realme 5

Realme will launch Realme 5 next and not Realme 4. Realme’s parent brand BBK Electronics never launches any smartphone with number 4 in it. There’s no OnePlus 4 or any device from Oppo or Vivo with the number 4. The company will directly launch Realme 5 in a few months. As the company generally maintains a six month gap to launch a successor, the next Realme device should launch in August or September.

Coming to specs and features, Realme 5 will come with a similar design and features as Realme 3. The processor, camera sensors and display may see an upgrade.

Realme 5 Pro

Just like its toned-down version, the Pro model will also not launch with the number 4. Realme 5 Pro will launch this year only, probably in September or October. Both the predecessors, Realme 2 Pro and Realme 3 Pro did and are doing really well in the Indian market. In terms of upgrades, the smartphone will get a new processor and maybe this time a three rear camera system.

The company previously confirmed that they are working on a Snapdragon 730 smartphone, and it could be Realme 5 Pro. Realme is yet to officially confirm any details. The smartphone will launch at under 15,000 rupees.

Realme X Pro

The newly launched Realme smartphone, the Realme X will soon get a Pro version of itself. The company is planning to take on Redmi K20 Pro with a flagship smartphone in both India and China. The company recently confirmed that they will soon launch a smartphone running on the Qualcomm flagship processor, Snapdragon 855. The Realme X Pro may be the device which will be powered by the chip.

While it’s still not known what is going to be the name, it’s for sure that the company will launch a Snapdragon 855 smartphone soon, and Realme X Pro can be the Realme Snapdragon 855 smartphone.

Realme 64MP Smartphone

Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has shared multiple pictures with their 64MP Quad Camera smartphone. The company has the smartphone ready, and will probably launch in India in a month or so. If no company launches a 64MP camera device before Realme, the company may become the first smartphone brand to launch a device with a 64MP rear camera system.

Xiaomi and Samsung are also in the race, and we need to wait to see who launches it first. The Realme 64MP smartphone is also going to be Realme’s first quad camera smartphone, a four camera system at the back.

Realme Snapdragon 855 Plus Smartphone

Not just Snapdragon 855, but Realme will also launch a smartphone with the newly unveiled Snapdragon 855 Plus. The new Qualcomm chip will be used by a few companies in the first phase, and Realme is one of them. This could be Realme’s special gaming smartphone. The company has plans to expand its portfolio, though they are yet to confirm a gaming device.

As Snapdragon 855 Plus mainly emphasizes on graphical performance, it could be a Realme gaming smartphone. The chip will help the device deliver a more enhanced and enriching gaming experience.

Realme 5G Smartphone

The company will also launch a budget 5G smartphone. We don’t know whether it’s going to be a seperate smartphone, or a just a 5G variant of an existing model. As other companies, it also may just add a 5G variant to the list like Realme X Pro 5G. The names are just the leaks, and the official details are not out yet. The Realme 5G smartphone will launch in China first.

Though, the company has officially confirmed that they are making a 5G smartphone, which will also launch in India once the 5G infrastructure is ready.
