Habibganj Railway Station To Be Ready By December End

The Habibganj railway station is the first railway station whose responsibility was given to private companies to build and develop. Bhopal-based Bansal Group was given the lease of the station for 8 years. Along with that, they were also granted a lease of 4 land parcels to amp up the station.

The station was the first one that the ISRDC developed under the Public-Private Partnership model, and the sole purpose behind the redevelopment of this station was to obtain more revenues for the Indian railways.

And finally, there is news about the completion of the railway station, and it will be ready by the end of this year, i.e. December 2019.

IRSDC MD and CEO, SK Lohia, said, “The work on the new concourse took more time than we expected due to the requirement of several clearances. But, I am hopeful that by December-end we will be able to complete work on this world-class station.”

How Will The Habibganj Railway Station Look?

The Habibganj railway station is located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and mimics the Heidelberg railway station in Germany. The revamping of the station cost around Rs. 100 crore, and around Rs. 350 crore will be spent on the development of the surroundings of the station.

Let’s look at features that the Habibganj Railway Station will flaunt:
