Redmi K20 Pro, the flagship phone by Redmi is here with us, and we have the first impressions and the unboxing of the phone all ready!

Redmi K20 Pro was launched in India yesterday, and has been received with mixed reviews. However, it is only fair if we look at what the phone is offering and then be the judge of the prices, and if they are truly over the top.

Redmi K20 Pro: Unboxing the Flagship

Aside from the phone, the box of the Redmi K20 Pro carries a good quality TPU case, and the usual paraphernalia such as documentation, a SIM card ejector tool, and a charger. There is an 18W fast charger with a USB Type-C cable.

At first sight, the phone (we received a glacier blue review unit) is quite the eye-catcher. It fits well in hand, and despite being a bit more on the weight, the phone is quite decent. It does hide behind the case, but the hard case is a must for a longer life of the phone.

The display of the Redmi K20 Pro has a good 91.9% screen to body ratio and a 6.39” FHD+ AMOLED screen. Additionally, it also supports HDR, giving a great video and viewing experience too. The phone is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back.

On the bottom of the phone, there is a speaker grill, a microphone, a USB port, and a dual nano SIM card tray. The power button is red in color and is on the right side along with the volume toggle keys. On the top, there is the pop-up selfie camera and a noise canceling earphone.

The Mechanics of The Redmi K20 Pro

The Redmi K20 Pro is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, which is one of the advanced ones, and does not fail to deliver.

The AnTuTu score of the phone is 367995, which is not very high, and although we cannot call the phone ‘World’s Fastest Phone’, Redmi K20 Pro is pretty satisfactory when it comes to speed.

Redmi K20 Pro has a battery of 4000 mAh and comes with a charger of 18W. It also supports 27W fast charging, the charger you can buy separately. The phone functions on MIUI 10 and the OS is Android 9.0 Pie, and there is not much bloatware, although we cannot say that there is none.

Redmi has installed all the required sensors in the phone, and some cool features such as 4g volte, fm radio, notification light on the pop-up camera, in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock sensor. However, the face unlock requires a bit of work, as it requires you to swipe up the screen after which it unlocks.

Camera, Audio and Visuals

On the rear, there is a triple camera setup, with 48 MP primary sensor of IMX 586, 8 MP telephoto, 13 MP ultrawide sensor. The selfie camera is of 20 MP, and comes with a fall protection, i.e., if the phone falls, the camera pops back inside.

The camera can shoot videos up to 4K, 60 FPS, thanks to the rear triple camera.

Coming to the video of the phone, the quality of the view is too good to be true! As the screen specifications are above par, this is bound to give a great experience to viewers.

When it comes to gaming, the Redmi K20 functions without a hitch, and you can play PUBG on HDR ultra mode, and even Fortnite at epic settings.

However, the audio of the Redmi K20 Pro does not keep up with the excellency of the video. It is sufficiently loud, but not as good in quality.

Is Redmi K20 Pro Priced High?

The phone was launched at Rs. 27,999 for the base variant 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM, and the 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM is priced at Rs 30,999 . The phone’s prices are definitely high by about Rs. 2-3000, and it has garnered a lot of negative feedback due to its high price.
