LG is all set to disrupt the budget smartphone market with a new series aiming to take on Xiaomi, Samsung and Realme. Missing from the action for a long time, the South Korean tech giant is now planning to gain back some market share in the country with an aggressive pricing strategy.
The upcoming W series will focus mainly on budget devices backed by top features and specs.
It’s first is the W10, and the device has been trending since a few days. The company have already shared a few glimpses, and we know the LG W10 is going to be the cheapest triple camera smartphone in the country soon.
LG plans to follow the same Galaxy M series strategy as its counterpart Samsung. The LG W series will focus on budget devices selling via online channels.
Galaxy M series became an instant hit, and now the Galaxy M devices are competing with the Xiaomi and Realme bestsellers.
While Huawei’s Honor is struggling due to its current OS situation, LG may have a less competitor to enter the budget market. Apart from Xiaomi and Realme, the current top two budget smartphone manufacturers, LG will face stiff competition from Samsung and Asus.
Their first device from the W series has been leaked, and here are the important details.
LG W10 Specs & Features: The New Budget King?
LG W10 will come with a 6.2-inch display with a notch on the top. The display panel is yet to be revealed, but the page confirms that the first LG W series will come with a gradient finish at the back and will come in three color options.
The upcoming budget handset will come with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. There could another variants as well, but it yet to be confirmed.
The LG W10 will have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor running the latest Android 9 Pie OS out of the box.
Under the hood, the LG W smartphone will pack in a 12nm octa-core chip clocked at 2.0 GHz. While we still don’t know which chip, but it could either be the previous generation entry-flagship MediaTek Helio P60 chip or the new Snapdragon 439 SoC.
The device will have a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack, a speaker grille at the bottom and a three camera setup at the back.
The smartphone will come with a rear triple camera system, the cheapest so far in the country. The optics information are not out yet, but apart from the main and depth sensor, LG W10 will come with an additional ultra wide-angle lens (speculated).
The smartphone will probably backed by a large 4,000mAh battery without any fast charging support.
The Notify Me page on Amazon India confirms that the first LG W series smartphone will come with AI-enabled triple rear cameras with shooting modes as Portrait, Bokeh modes and dedicated Night Mode to enhance the low-light photography with the third wide-angle sensor capabilities.
LG W10 Price & India Launch: LG W10 Price In India, Availability
Coming to the price, the LG W10 in India may cost somewhere between Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000, or maybe even below. As LG plans to take on the budget segment, the LG W10 India price may start at Rs 9,999. The LG W series smartphones will be sold at a very aggressive pricing and only via online only.
Similar to the current budget offerings by Redmi, Realme and Samsung Galaxy M series smartphones, LG W10 model may have multiple storage options.
The company hasn’t confirmed a release date yet, but the LG W10 India launch is expected to launch in India by early July. But, rest assured, LG W10 launch in India will happen very soon. Finally, the LG W10 price in India should be somewhere 10,000 bucks. It will be available exclusively via Amazon India.
