Realme 5G Smartphone Confirmed To Be Launching This Year: Is It Coming To India?

While India is prepping up for the next round of 5G field trials, the superstar budget-flagship maker Realme is all set to launch its first 5G smartphone by the fall. The company recently began its operations in China, and the 5G Realme smartphone will first launch there and then in India.

India in yet to get a 5G pan-India network support.

The trials are on, and according to TRAI, India may have its initial range of 5G network in the country by early next year.

Realme confirmed the launch of a 5G-enabled smartphone at the Realme X launch last month. The company also confirmed the launch of the 5G smartphone in India as soon as the country gets its 5G connectivity.

Realme 5G Smartphone Is Coming This Year

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed that the ex-Oppo sub-brand will be launching its first 5G smartphone this year. Realme confirmed at that the Realme X launch last year that it is indeed working on a 5G smartphone, but did not reveal any detail.

While rumours were there that it will bring in the 5G device next year, but it’s now been cleared. The device will arrive this year.

Realme is soon going to be among one of the first brands in the world to bring in  a 5G smartphone globally this year.

It’s yet to be confirmed whether the company will introduce a new 5G smartphone under its 5G device portfolio or add up 5G technology to any existing model to offer 5G support.

Realme 5G Smartphone India Launch: Is It Coming To India?

Realme has confirmed that the company will be launching its 5G smartphone in the country as soon as India gets 5G connectivity. The company CEO added, that the company is determined to bring in the best of technology to the country as early as possible.

In an interview with Trak.in, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth also confirmed that the company will bring in the 5G smartphone to the country soon.

India will be getting its first set of 5G smartphones by the end of the third quarter.

Realme either may add up 5G connectivity to its existing Realme X throwing up a possibility of a 5G variant of Realme X. According to the rumours, the company may call it Realme X Pro.

The first Realme 5G smartphone will run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, built on a 7nm architecture with the Snapdragon X50 modem to enable the latest fifth generation mobile telephony.

5G Smartphones Coming To India: OnePlus, Samsung, Realme & More!

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and LG V50 ThinQ 5G are one of the two devices which may come to India with 5G support. Also, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and Huawei Mate 20X 5G will be available in India later with 5G support.

Only a few cities in India has 5G infrastructure ready, so the availability will be limited for the time being.

Any company who plans to sell a 5G supported smartphone in the country will wait till the country has a pan-India network, or atleast is available commercially in most of the areas.

Apart from 5G trials, the Indian government will soon be running a spectrum auction with a new administration to revive the government-owned telecom services like BSNL and MTNL.
