After the phones’ launch in China, Xiaomi is finally launching the phones in India and Manu Kumar Jain, the VP of Xiaomi has taken to Twitter to declare this news.

After the launch, there arose a whirlwind of utter confusion about the Redmi K20 series being the next device by Mi or Poco. however, this confusion has been put to rest by the said tweet.

Redmi K20 Series India Launch

Manu Kumar Jain, global Vice President of Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India has announced the big news via a video on Twitter. In the 30 second video, Manu Kumar Jain has declared that the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will be launched in India in six weeks, which is approximately on the 15th July.

Yes, the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro devices will be available for sale after July 15.

The phones are not flagship phones, but a step ahead, they are the ‘flagship killer’ by Xiaomi. Redmi’s K20 series smartphone debuted in the China market on May 28.

Redmi K20 To Keep Its Name

There has been a lot of chaos and uncertainty about the phones being launched with different names. This has been solved too.

The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro are being launched with different names in different regions. In short, the Redmi K20 is being launched as Mi 9T in some regions, and Poco F2 in some places.

Whereas, the Redmi K20 Pro is being launched as the Mi 9T Pro and Poco F2 Pro.

In India, the Redmi K20 series smartphones will be launched by their original names, i.e., Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro.

Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro: Specs and Features

Both the K20 smartphones are quite similar, but there are a few differences.

Redmi K20

The Redmi K20 phone features a Snapdragon 730 processor and comes with three variants:

  • 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage
  • 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage

Redmi K20 Pro

Pitted against the OnePlus 7 Pro, the Redmi K20 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset, which makes the phone the cheapest smartphone with this processor. It has three variants:

  • 6GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage
  • 8GB RAM + 64GB internal storage
  • 128GB RAM + 256GB internal storage

Both the phones come with a 4000 mAh battery, but the K20 has 18 W fast charging support, whereas the Pro has 27 W fast charging support.
