One of the leading IT firms in India, Tech Mahindra Ltd has recently announced that they will be deploying a new Blockchain technology, the primary of agenda of which is to alleviate spam calls for Telecom sector in India.

Tech Mahindra and Blockchain

In 2018, Tech Mahindra designed the Blockchain Solution which covers over 25% of market share in India and in compliance with the regulations and guidelines of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to help telecom providers preclude from having unauthorised access of their subscriber’s data.

Tech Mahindra partnered with Microsoft last year to demonstrate the technology platform. The IT firm has a team of 50 members across Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai who are currently involved in writing the Blockchain code. It would be a one-time implementation and will be managed by the firm after that.

However the company has not shared any details of charges and revenue they would be expecting and has been keeping mum when persistently asked about the details of this subject. Blockchain is expected to be a trillion dollar market by 2030 and its main focus is to attract corporates and governments alike.

Rajesh Dhuddu, Global Practice Leader of Blockchain at Tech Mahindra said that the TRAI regulations will have an impact on over 300 million subscribers and this Blockchain Technology is aiming to mitigate the concerns of unsolicited commercial communication (UCC) or spam calls for subscribers.

Main Focus: Satisfy Customer Needs

As the part of next TechMNxT charter, Tech Mahindra is investing more and more in the next-generation technologies and has a main focus to satisfy customers evolving needs.

Tech Mahindra is also demonstrating the Blockchain effectiveness in various sectors like Telecom, Manufacturing, Hi-Tech Industries and Financial Services.

Reports say that Tech Mahindra is currently working hand in hand with tech giant, Samsung toimplement the solutions of development of a blockchain platform, Nextledger, which is a Samsung initiative.

Recently, Tech Mahindra has also partnered with a global process automation firm, UiPath and announced that they are working together to provide an end-to-end cognitive operations automation solution in the area of service desk operations.
