After Gujarat, it is the turn of CRPF to ban the popular game. In a notice posted for all jawans and anti-insurgency CoBRA unit, PUBG has been ordered to be deleted from the mobile phones of the jawans.

Earlier, Gujarat had banned PUBG across the state, and some gamers were arrested as well.

But what made CRPF ban PUBG?

CRPF: PUBG Is Banned For All Jawans

Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF is India’s largest  Central Armed Police Force, and functions under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India.

In a circular posted for all jawans, and the anti-insurgency CoBRA unit, it has been ordered that no member of CRPF will play this game.

Random checks have been ordered for the mobile phones used by soldiers, and the ban will be strictly implemented. Company Commanders have been ordered to ensure that PUBG is not present in any of the mobiles.

The circular from CRPF stated: “All deputy inspectors-general (DIGs) to ensure and instruct all unit/company personnel under your command to get it deleted/deactivated such apps from their mobile phones…”

PUBG Is Negatively Affecting The Soldiers?

As per the reports coming in, CRPF is concerned that our soldiers are getting addicted to the game, and this is negatively affecting their operational skills, and capabilities.

In a May 6 order issued by the Bihar unit, it has been mentioned that jawans are not socializing any more, and they are getting sleep deprived, as they are playing the game all the times. The order stated: “…. It’s (PUBG) getting these men addicted to it and getting them engaged to a great extent which is affecting their ops performance, aggressive and attitudinal issues..”

Considering that the jawans need to be physically and mentally active all the time during their duty hours, and even off-duty, this is indeed a serious issue pointed out by CRPF.

PUBG Can Be Banned In India?

Gujarat had become the first state to officially ban PUBG across the state, and before that, Rajkot had placed a ban on this game.

Delhi Childs Right Commission has issued warnings against PUBG, and have declared the game as unsafe for children

Even China, the country where PUBG was born, and developed by Tencent, has banned this highly addictive game.

It will be interesting to observe whether the game gets nation-wide ban now, or not.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
