Redmi Y3 & Redmi 7 Launched In India: Checkout Specs, Price, USPs & More!

Xiaomi unveiled two new budget Redmi smartphones in the country: Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7. With almost similar specifications, the new Redmi devices aim at selfie-lovers and budget category respectively.

The company also announced a new crowdfunding scheme from April 26.

Redmi 7 will succeed the current budget Redmi 6 series, while Redmi Y3 is going to be a affordable selfie-centric device succeeding Redmi Y2.

Redmi Y3: Specs, Features, Price & Availability

Redmi Y3 will come with the same ‘Aura’ design on the out as Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. It sports a 6.26-inch HD+ only display with a dot notch on top with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.

The smartphone will run on Qualcomm 632 SoC paired with 3GB and 4GB of RAM. Y3 will come in two storage options: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.

Xiaomi Redmi Y3 will have a AI dual rear camera system comprising of a primary 12MP sensor with 1.25um pixel size and a secondary 2MP depth sensor.

Up front, Y3 being a selfie-centric smartphone, will come with EIS for front camera. It will come with a larger 32MP sensor supporting AI Beautify and Auto HDR.

The smartphone will have MIUI 10 skin based on Android 9 Pie with a triple SIM slot (2+1), fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio socket and proprietary IR blaster.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE with VoLTE.

Y3 will come with a larger battery this time, a 4,000mAh unit.

Redmi Y3 base model with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at Rs 9,999, and the top model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will cost Rs 11,999.

Redmi Y3 will go on sale from April 30 via Amazon India, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores.

Redmi 7: Specs, Features, Price & Availability

Redmi 7 comes with a new design on the sporting a 6.26-inch HD+ only display with a dot notch on top with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.

Under the hood, Redmi 7 will run on the same 14nm Snapdragon 632 octa-core SoC with 2GB or 3GB RAM. As of now, there will be two storage variants: 2GB RAM with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage.

Redmi 7 comes with the same 12MP primary snapper with 2MP secondary depth sensor rear camera combination as Redmi Y3. Up front, Redmi 7 has a 8MP selfie shooter.

Just like Redmi Y3, Redmi 7 will run on MIUI 10 skin based on Android 9 Pie with a triple SIM slot (2+1), fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio socket and the IR blaster.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE with VoLTE.

Redmi 7 will come with a 4,000mAh battery unit, capable of running over a day on a single charge.

Coming to the prices, the Redmi 7 base model with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at Rs 7,999, and the top model with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will cost Rs 8,999.

Redmi 7 will go on sale from April 29, again via Amazon India, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores.
