OPPO Reno and Reno 10X Launching In India: Prices, Features and Specifications

Chinese company OPPO has been under the good light in India especially post the release of its OnePlus mobile series. The good news here is that Oppo has announced the latest flagship of its new phone sub-brand, Reno. Now, brace yourselves pretty well because the cherry to the cake is that under this flagship, Oppo is launching not one but two smartphones: the Oppo Reno Standard Edition and the Oppo Reno 10X zoom.

It is the company’s first phone line to have truly high-end specifications, a detailed tour to which, we shall give you as we proceed further. There have been a lot of speculations on when it will sell-off in India. Considering the great market place India provides to the company, it can be expected to release in India soon. The date in Chinese arrival is 10th May.

Specifications

This line fulfils all the features for your typical go-to phone. It has an excellent simulation of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC processor along with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and will be releasing both the Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 855-powered variants of the Reno.

The main highlight of the Oppo 10X zoom model is its unusual shark-fin selfie camera, which is going to steal the hearts of all the selfie lovers. As the name suggests, the 10X zoom model has a 48 MP F/1.7 main shooter, a 13 MP F/3.0 periscope camera on the back and third wide-angle snapper with 8 MP sensor and F/2.2 aperture. The front-facing camera, peeking from the elevating mechanism, is 16 MP.

The Oppo Reno 10x zoom will be only the second phone on the market to deliver a 160mm telephoto lens. Along with this, people are highly relying on the shark fin pop up selfie camera. This allows users to capture pictures with great clarity and accuracy, adhering to a focal length of 16mm to 160mm. The phone has a 16MP sensor for clicking selfies, in a pop-up mechanism which casts a more real-time experience.

There is no room for 3D face unlock but has a 6.55” AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution under display fingerprint scanner. Both the phones include NFC and VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The phone comes in three RAM and storage configurations – 6GB+128GB, 6GB+256GB and 8GB+256GB.

Among some of the pictures posted by Oppo, it can be calculated that the Reno smartphone will have 93.1% screen to body ratio, a 3.49mm bezel at the bottom of the display and 1.59mm at the top and sides. It has a great image stabilization factor and is said to have equipped with Gorilla Glass 6. The smartphone will run on Android 9 Pie based Color OS 6.0, Dolby Atmos sound, a 3.5mm headphone socket, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, and Game Boost 2.0.

Price and Launch

The official date for the Chinese arrival is May 10 and the prices start from CNY3,999, or about $600. Pre-orders have already started in China, while May 10 is the alleged date for shipping and offline store arrivals.

The standard Reno costs $450 for 6GB RAM/128GB variant, $490 for 6GB/256GB variant, and $540 for 8GB/256GB. The 10x Zoom Edition, meanwhile, is priced higher across the board: $600 for 6GB/128GB, $670 for 6GB/256GB and $710 for 8GB/256GB.

The pricing for India, Europe and other markets is rumoured to be announced at a global launch event in Zurich on April 24.
