Airtel 4G Hotspot Device Is Now Free; Airtel Digital TV Starts Refunding Money For Long-Term Plans

Airtel has unleashed a new price war for users of 4G hotspot device. Under a new promotional scheme, users can get their 4G hotspot device for free of charge, and get 500% additional data as well.

However, there is a condition attached.

On the other hand, Airtel Digital TV has finally started refunding money for their users, who had opted for long term plans earlier.

Airtel 4G Hotspot: Get It For Free Now

Airtel’s 4G hotspot is the dongle which can be connected with any laptop or computer, and provide 4G Internet speed.

Under a new promotional offer, users can now get the device for absolutely no charge.

However, in order to avail, this offer, the user will be required to opt for a long term plan of 6 months rental. Cost of a 4G hotspot dongle is Rs 999.

Airtel 4G Hotspot: New Plans Unleashed

Airtel has also revised the data plans offered under the 4G hotspot dongle. Earlier, there were several plans, based on the validity and data usage, but now, all the previous plans have been removed, and there just remains two plans:

1. Rs 399/month, which will give 50 GB of data for 30 days. After the quota is finished, users will be able to access unlimited data at 80 kbps speed.
2. Rs 599/month, which will give 100 GB of data for 30 days. 80 kbps speed after this quota is finished for an unlimited time period.

Six month rental for these two plans is priced at Rs 2400 and Rs 3600 respectively. In case a user opts for these 6 months plan, then the dongle which costs Rs 999 will be free. 

Airtel Digital TV Starts Refunding Money

Meanwhile, Airtel Digital TV, which is their DTH arm, has stated that they will refund money for all their users, who had opted for long term plans before the implementation of the new cable TV rules.

The refund will be for those users, who had opted for long term plans under old cable TV rules, and now want to change over to the new plans and packs under the new Cable TV regime.

Users who didn’t switch over to the new plans for fear of losing money can now safely change over.

In case any user doesn’t change over to the new plans, then their accounts will be automatically shifted to the best fit plan, which resembles their average usage.

If that happens, then there can be blackout for some users, as not every pay channel is included in the best-fit plans.
