Asus launched its Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 in December.

Redmi Note 7 will take on some of the heavyweights in the budget category.

Design & Build

Realme 2 Pro has a polycarbonate body with a glass-like finish and is more durable compared to metal. In comparison, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will have a metal finish like its own Zenfone 5Z flagship.

Redmi Note 7 has a glass sandwich body with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both front and back.

All the three smartphones: Redmi Note 7, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 and Realme 2 Pro are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. In terms of performance, all three smartphones will perform day to days tasks with ease.

The stock Android on Zenfone Max Pro M2 will help the hardware run smoothly in comparison to the other two.

Three Realme 2 Pro models available in India: 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 also has three storage models: 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB, and 6GB/64GB. In comparison, Redmi Note 7 has been launched in two models: 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB.

The storage on all three handsets can be expanded with the help of an external memory card.

Software

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 runs on stock Android based on Android Oreo 8.1 OS. Realme 2 Pro has Color OS 5.2 based on Android Oreo 8.1 UI. Lastly, Redmi Note 7 runs on MIUI based on Android Pie.

In terms of overall user experience, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will offer a better UI with bloat-free Android experience.

Rear Camera

Redmi Note 7 comes with a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel primary camera and a secondary 2-megapixel lens with an f/1.8 aperture. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 has a rear dual camera system comprising of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary depth sensor.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 can easily run for up to two days with moderate usage.

All the smartphones support fast charging but do not ship with any fast charging adapters.

The base model of Redmi Note 7 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage starts at Rs 9,999. The Redmi Note 7 top model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will sell at Rs 11,999. Realme 2 Pro start at Rs 12,990 for the base model with 64GB storage. Similarly, Zenfone Max Pro M2 starts at Rs 12,999.

CONCLUSION: Redmi Note 7 vs Max Pro M2 vs Realme 2 Pro

Redmi Note 7, Reame 2 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 all will end on the same line if put against each other. Realme 2 Pro and Redmi Note 7 has larger screen space while Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 has a bigger battery in comparison and a smoother bloat-free UI with stock Android.

You can pick Asus Max Pro M2 has a bigger battery and stock Android UI while Redmi Note 7 has a slightly better camera. Input in the same line, all of them will similar performance and user experience.

But again, Redmi Note 7 starting at Rs 9,999 is a deal breaker. The smartphone packs in better features, great looks, awesome specs, all at a very competitive price. Redmi Note 7 is definitely the best smartphone to buy under 10,000 rupees currently.
