While people playing video games is always looked at as a childish hobby or is always criticized for distracting students from studying, this recent study has proved otherwise.

Apparently, playing video games with colleagues at work can produce fruitful results and help maintain unity in the workplace.

Video games in India have always been a matter for criticism. While some people look at them as a great pastime, there are people who lose their senses and dive into this virtual world with no connection to reality.

With all these critical responses, there is still a ray of sunshine left for PUBG and other video games such as Fortnite.

A 45 Minute Video Game Break!

A study has recently been published that is urging people to play video games if they want to produce better results at work. The study says that playing collaborative video games with colleagues can boost a person’s productivity at work and that too in a huge way!

This study is conducted by four information systems professors at the Brigham Young University (BYU). they have also claimed that only 45 minutes of video game play time can result in groundbreaking productivity at work, it can probably increase the productivity by up to 20 per cent!

This study has been published AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction. Another thing to be noted is that this is not the first time that studies have proven that playing collaborative, team-based video games with colleagues is another team bonding activity – it can help bring about a team spirit and a positive work environment amongst co-workers.

As per Greg Anderson, the co-author and BYU associate professor, “To see that big of a jump—especially for the amount of time they played—was a little shocking. Companies are spending thousands and thousands of dollars on team-building activities, and I’m thinking, go buy an Xbox.”

PUBG banned in India?

PUBG, the videogame that has caught on like fire in India, has recently garnered a lot of bad press. The game was declared as the best game of 2018 by Google Play, while on the other hand, the game received negative responses for wreaking havoc in people’s lives.

A fitness trainer in Jammu suffered from mental imbalance due to PUBG, and Gujarat became the first state to ban PUBG in India.
