HMD Global tasted massive success with its X models. Both Nokia X6 and Nokia X5 has done tremendously well in China, and its all set to launch an upgrade, Nokia X7.

Both Nokia X6 and Nokia X5 has been launched in India as the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus respectively.

Coming to the Nokia X7 leak, the same smartphone will launch in India as Nokia 7.1 Plus. Already there were rumors that the company is working on the next generation Nokia X7, but it has been confirmed and the key specifications are out as well.

The leaked Nokia X7 model will be launched and marketed in India and other global markets as Nokia 7.1 Plus.

Design & Built

Nokia X7 model shows that the Nokia 7.1 Plus will come with an almost design language as the new Nokia 6.1 Plus. The smartphone will use the same premium glass built on front and back, and a metal frame in the middle. Down under, it will come with a small chin with Nokia branding on it.

Display

Nokia 7.1 Plus will come with a 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ elongated display. The size is yet to be revealed, but it will be a 6-inch plus screen in a 19:9 aspect ratio. That means there is going to be a notch at the top with thinner bezels on the sides.

Hardware

The Nokia 7.1 Plus will get powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor built on a 10nm process, paired with up to 6GB of RAM. That seems like a substantial upgrade over the Nokia 7 Plus which uses the Snapdragon 660 chipset.

Software

Nokia X7 is again going to an Android One device. Backed by Google, the Nokia X7 will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with guaranteed security updates and version upgrades till Android Q. The device will get Android Pie by early 2019.

Storage

In terms of memory, the Nokia X7 is expected come with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage onboard. The memory on Nokia 7.1 Plus can be expanded further with an external memory card.

Cameras

There’s going be a rear dual camera setup in a vertically placed position. Nokia 7.1 Plus will again feature the same Carl Zeiss lenses with a single camera lens on front.

Connectivity

The smartphone will come with standard connectivity features including dual SIM 4G support. Nokia 7.1 Plus has the required sensors supporting all major 4G LTE bands and 4G VoLTE.

Battery

Nokia X7 will ship with a 18W fast charging brick in the box. The battery specs are not out yet, but it’s expected to be somewhere around 3,500mAh.

Nokia 7 Plus is currently available in the Indian market at under Rs 25,999. But looking at how HMD Global recently priced its Nokia 6.1 Plus (Nokia X6) in India, the company will again price Nokia 7.1 Plus very competitively. Nokia 6.1 Plus is doing well with the flash sales, and the company will look to carry on the momentum.

So, Nokia 7.1 Plus is going be priced below Rs 25,000, may be close to Xiaomi Poco F1 and Honor Play. Nokia 7 Plus may see a price cut soon as well.

Nokia X7 India Launch | Nokia 7.1 Plus Launch In India

HMD Global is going to hold a new smartphone launch event in London in the first week of October 2018. The company hasn’t revealed the details yet, but seems like the flagship Nokia 9. But again, there could be chances that the company unveils Nokia X7 globally at the event.

If launched globally in October, in India the Nokia 7.1 Plus might arrive a month later, or by the end of 2018.

HMD Global has already sent out the media invites for a launch event on 4 October in London. It’s just a couple of weeks away, so it can be Nokia 9 or Nokia 7.1 Plus, or both.
