In case there happens a case study of the fastest growing brand, anywhere in India, then JioPhone will be the numero-uno brand, for a long long time.

As per recent numbers coming in from Counterpoint Research, Reliance Jio has managed to record a stunning 155,000% growth in the last one year.

As of now, JioPhone commands almost half of the market share of feature phones, and the growth has been simply mind-blowing.

With a new Monsoon Hungama offer being launched now, we can expect only more growth and more momentum.

155,000% Growth In JioPhone’s Market Share!

Last year, in the month of July, Reliance Jio launched their hardware disruption in the form of JioPhone, which was offered at an effective price of Rs 0.

In the second quarter of 2017, Jio was able to grab 0.3% market share, which has now increased to 47% market share, within a year.

This means that Jio was able to accomplish what no other brand has been able to do: Record a mind boggling growth rate of 155,000% in the last 12 months.

Samsung, Nokia Pushed Out By JioPhone!

Samsung and Nokia, the traditional champions of feature phone market are no-where to be seen here.

Once a market leader with over 27% share in the feature phone market, Samsung now commands mere 9% share, which is less than 5 times that of JioPhone.

This means Samsung has now three times less market share in feature phone sales, compared to last year, same quarter.

On the other hand Nokia has improved a bit, if we compared to 2017.

Last year in Quarter 2, Nokia had 3% share, which has now increased to 8% this quarter.

Itel too has lost a large chunk of the market: last year it had 16% share, which has now come down to 6%, which makes them #4 in the list.

JioPhone 2 now has Google Maps, Youtube, Whatsapp and Facebook in their KaiOS, and the new version which will be introduced on August 15th promises even more traction.

In May this year, we had reported that KaiOS, the operating system which powers JioPone has beaten Apple’s iOS in grabbing overall marketshare in mobile phones.

We will keep you updated, as JioPhone breaks new records, and sets a new benchmark for all mobile phone brands.
