As Xiaomi is getting ready for its 8th anniversary this month with a Mi 8 launch, its new budget Redmi series successor leaked on the internet. As per the reports, Xiaomi is all set with its new Redmi series phone along with Redmi 6A.
The upcoming Redmi 6 series phones were spotted on Chinese certification website TENAA.
Some images were also leaked along with the specifications. The TENAA listing has revealed all the smartphones under the Redmi 6 series. Allegedly the smartphones would be called Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Plus.

Design & Build
As per the leaked images, the Redmi 6 will come in a unibody build which will be a mix of plastic and metal. The fingerprint scanner is on the rear panel below the dual camera.
Display
Redmi 6 will come with a 5.45-inch HD+ widescreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an 18:9 screen aspect ratio. The device measures 147.46 x 71.49 x 8.3mm and weighs 145 grams.
Hardware
The upcoming Redmi 6 will be powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 2GB, 3GB and 4GB of RAM along with Adreno 506 GPU.
Software
As per the listing, Redmi 6 will run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The device is expected to come with MIUI 9.5 on top of Android Oreo.
Storage
The TENAA listing has also revealed that the Redmi 6 will come in three storage variants;
- 2 GB RAM + 16 GB Storage
- 3 GB RAM + 32 GB Storage
- 4 GB RAM + 64 GB Storage
Camera
Redmi 6 will come with a 5-megapixel front sensor along with a dual-lens setup at the back. The dual rear camera system is expected to come with two 12-megapixel sensors.
Connectivity
It will support two SIM cards with a microSD card slot (hybrid) placed on the left. Redmi 6 includes 3.5mm headphone jack with all other required connectivity options and sensors on board.
Battery
The listing shows that the Redmi 6 will come with a 3,000mAh battery which is smaller compared to the 3,300mAh battery on Redmi 5.

There will be two other smartphones under the Redmi 6 series. Redmi 5 was launched in December last year in China and in March this year in India. The Redmi 6 series smartphones are still in the development stage and it may not launch in India before 2019.
Xiaomi is also set to release its anniversary flagship Mi 8 on May 31 in China along with MIUI 10. The Xiaomi Mi 8 was also leaked just ahead of the launch. As per the leak, the Mi 8 will come with a 6.2-inch IPS Full HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, dual rear cameras (20MP + 16MP), 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo software with the upcoming MIUI 10 on top.

These are early days for a phone which is expected to arrive much later in the year, but both the image and the TENAA listing are significant pointers towards what we should expect from Xiaomi’s next budget powerhouse.
