February will end on a high note with a flurry of launches happening at the biggest mobile event in the world, the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Here in India, we got to see some major smartphone launches in February, from the much-anticipated Redmi Note 5 to an all-new Note 5 Pro. With MWC making all the headlines, March has a lot in store for India. From the Samsung’s latest flagships the Galaxy S9 and the S9 Plus to the bezel-less Mi MIX 2S and the first set of Android Go phones, there are some exciting launches lined up for March 2018.

The annual global event, Mobile World Congress (MWC), which is now happening in Barcelona, has already seen some top smartphone manufacturers unveil some of their latest flagships.

Here are the top smartphones which are expected to launch in the month of March.

Samsung has already unveiled their much-anticipated flagships, Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, at the ‘Unpacked’ event at the MWC 2018. The Galaxy S9 series comes with some expected changes – an all new fingerprint sensor, a powerful Exynos 9810 processor and an improved camera.

The biggest change is a redesigned camera hardware which now sports a mechanically adjustable aperture. Samsung has claimed that the new camera system on the S9 series lets in 28 percent more light and cuts down the background fuzz by 30 percent, compared to its predecessors. The camera has the Super Speed Dual Pixel technology with a Variable Aperture (f/1.5 to f/2.4) lens. Both the devices will come with IP68 water and dust resistance and intelligent scanning feature.

Airtel and Google announced a strategic partnership yesterday to bring low-cost 4G smartphones powered by Android Oreo (Go Edition) in India. Lava and Micromax will be manufacturing the first set of devices for Airtel and Google. These 4G Android Go smartphones will come with optimised Google Go apps, including Airtel’s My Airtel App, Airtel TV and Wynk Music.

The devices will start shipping in late March, and the upcoming Android Go smartphones will be unveiled under Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ program.

Asus launched the new ZenFone 5 Series smartphones at the MWC 2018 yesterday. The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite is a dual-SIM smartphone which will run ZenUI 5.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. It features a 6.0-inch full HD+ IPS LCD 18:9 display. The display will feature the Asus Blue-light eye-care filter and will have a 80.3 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Photography enthusiasts are going to be thrilled because the ZenFone 5 Lite sports four cameras! The primary setup is made up of a 16-megapixel f/2.2 sensor + an 8-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle sensor. The selfies are taken care of by a 20-megapixel f/2.0 sensor + an 8-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle sensor.

In a rare instance, the Asus ZenFone 5 Lite will be available with two processor variants; one with Snapdragon 430 and Adreno 505 and the other with Snapdragon 630 and Adreno 505. There will be further divided based on RAM and storage: 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage. All the variants will support expandable memory up to 2TB with a dedicated memory card slot.

After skipping the launch at the MWC 2018, Xiaomi confirmed the launch of its upcoming flagship Mi MIX 2S on March 27. The device has been leaked on multiple occasions. It has been confirmed, that the smartphone will be powered the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. It will sport a 5.99-inch bezel-less display with a 95 percent screen-to-body ratio and a 16-megapixel rear camera.

The Mi MIX 2S has achieved a higher AnTuTu score than the other flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Sony Xperia XZ2. The MIX 2S is expected to cost around RMB 4,000 (approx. Rs 40,200/-).

The Lenovo-owned Motorola might give the Moto G6 series a miss at the MWC 2018, but the company has promised a launch very soon, and probably by the end of march. The alleged renders of the entire series of Moto G6 family have already been leaked ahead of the upcoming launch.

The new G series will include Moto G6 Play, Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus. All the new Moto G6 series smartphones will sport 18:9 widescreen displays with a 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and will run the latest Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. The Moto G6 Plus will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM.

Huawei confirmed at the MWC 2018 that the Huawei P20 will get a global launch on March 27. The leaked renders suggest a dual camera setup with an Apple iPhone X-like notch at the top. The handset will run the latest Android Oreo out of the box. As per another report, the Huawei P20 will come with a 6-inch widescreen 18:9 display and a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. Under the hood, it will run the AI-powered Kirin 970 processor coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of internal storage and a 4000mAh battery.

    I was just looking to buy a new Smartphones & I have decided to go with Asus ZenFone 5 Lite as Asus ZenFone as one of the best Smartphone brand.
