Razer Phone – Specifications and Features

With the cream of specs on board, the Razer Phone can easily compete against the latest top-end flagships from other established players.

Design And Build

The Razer Phone carries some of the design cues from the Nextbit Robin, with its angular body and round design elements. It look sleek and stealthy, with a dark, anodized aluminum exterior. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button, located on the side.

Display

The Razer Phone sports a 5.7 inch Quad-HD display with a wide color gamut and 120Hz refresh rate (the same as on an iPad Pro). This is the first smartphone to feature such a high screen-refresh rate. It helps render the game graphics even more smoothly than regular smartphones. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Hardware

The Razer phone packs in the latest, ultra-fast, octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor, clubbed with an Adreno 540 GPU and 8GB of RAM!

Software

The smartphone will run Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box, with a promised update to Android 8.0 Oreo by early 2018.

Storage

The Razer phone will feature 64GB of on-board storage, which be further expanded up to 2TB with an external memory card.

Camera

The Razer smartphone has a dual rear camera setup with 12 megapixel wide angle lens combined with another 12 megapixel 2x optical zoom lens. At the front, it has a wide-angle, 8 megapixel selfie-shooter.

Sound

It has dual front-facing, Dolby Atmos speakers with high-end dual amplifiers. One for each speaker! Unsurprisingly though, there’s no headphone jack, which is the future trend, whether we like it or not. It will ship with a THX-certified USB C type headphone adapter.

Connectivity

It supports all 4G LTE bands, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, GPS and comes with a USB Type C port.

Battery

The Razer phone is powered by a huge 4,000mAh battery, which is a good thing since this smartphone is aimed towards serious gamers.

Features Hardcore Gamers Will Appreciate

Razer has included some of the most advanced gaming features and technology, typically found on high-end gaming consoles and gaming PCs.

IGZO Display

The super-fast refresh rates of the display help in rendering smooth movements and animations in games. This is the first smartphone display ever to support 120hz refresh rate.

UltraMotion Adaptive Refresh Technology

The Razer Phone features UltraMotion adaptive refresh technology, which synchronizes the display and GPU to remove any lags or motion distortion.

Audio Output

The dual, front speakers have zero distortion even at highest levels. They bear THX certification for delivering crystal-clear sound.

Pricing and Availability

In the U.S, the Razer Phone will cost $699.99 (around Rs. 45,200). Pre-orders for the Razer Phone will begin today and the sales will start on November 17 in the US. There’s no word on Razer Phone’s India launch yet.

Yet, we are hoping that this smartphone makes it to India, where its sure to receive a warm welcome!
