Adding a new product to their wide range of accessories, Xiaomi has launched their Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 here in India with an affordable price tag of Rs.1,799/-. The new Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 will house two speaker grilles which claims to push out clearer and more natural sound than other Bluetooth speakers.

First Impressions

The BT speaker from Xiaomi has been specially designed to output crystal clear sound. Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 has a compact size and the sound will be enhanced compared to the previous Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic. The speaker works with both, iOS and Android platforms, and comes with a built-in mic for taking hands-free calls.

Design and Shape

Like the last one, the newer variant too features an aluminium frame on the outside, with a stylish matte finish. The speaker has slightly chamfered edges. The Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 weighs 237 grams, and is portable enough to be carried around easily.

Hands-Free Operation

Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 can be paired with both, Android and iOS devices. It can be used to make or receive phone calls with its high-quality integrated microphone, apart from listening to music. Just press the power key for using it as a speaker in conference calls.

Battery Life

The Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 has a claimed battery-life of up to 10 hours of continuous playback (at 40% volume), which is above average for BT speakers. The speaker packs in a 1200mAh lithium polymer battery inside the compact body.

Connectivity

The Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 uses Bluetooth v4.2 to connect to other devices. It ensures a stable connection while consuming less power. If you wish to connect the speaker to other devices like your PC or older generation MP3 players, Xiaomi has provided an AUX connection as well.

The Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2 will output between 2402 MHz and 2480 MHz frequency. The frequency response ranges from 100Hz to 18KHz, with a max output of 2.5Wx2. These figures are above the average when it comes to BT speakers.
