Exactly a month back we had reported that Reliance Retail, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, is going to launch an online marketplace for fashion products, and Reliance delivered.

An online counterpart to the brick and mortar stores of Reliance Retail, fashion and style portal AJIO.com was launched on 2nd April at the Lakme Fashion Week. Subsequently, Fashion week’s collection has also been made available on the portal.

If you browse the website, you will notice that it has been designed keeping women in mind, and all the products sold online are actually for women. The reason behind this is that the portal derives its inspiration from modern woman who is strong and free to stand by her choice.

Sanjay Mehta, CEO – AJIO.com, talked about the marketplace, “We are excited to launch the unique fashion portal, which represents the modern Indian woman.” Reliance Jio will be another digital support to the online marketplace and Reliance Retail hopes to expand its reach further into smaller parts of the country.

What sets AJIO.com apart?

One of the best features of AJIO has to be the vast variety of brands and designers on the website, specially curated and chosen by professionals from the industry. Apart from the usual big names, you will also find unknown, yet creative designers.

It is said to already have 200 Indian and International labels, with some popular global names like Tally Weijl from Switzerland, Kira Plastinina from Russia, Holster from Australia, and MDS from Singapore. The portal lists clothes, accessories, belts, bags and wallets, footwear and fashion jewellery.

Reliance will also have in-house brands on sale, and the portal can be seen to be designed specifically keeping a working woman in mind. Ethnic wear is also one of the most available collections on the website, sure to catch your attention.

Reliance Industries is planning to approach more small and medium vendors in India to add to the collections online. Reliance Jio will be leveraged by the teams at back end ensuring your orders reach you on time, while also ensuring your experience is not compromised.

We sincerely hope Reliance Retail expands the clothing line to men and children, because how long can a business sustain on just one aspect. Check out the website and let us know of your opinions below!
