OnePlus One launched in 2014 was a blockbuster success and OnePlus Two launched earlier this year also had huge demand.

Now, with launch of OnePlus X the company wants to target audience who are on the budget – though at Rs. 17k price tag, it still remains slightly over the Indian “budget” tag.

A budget phone in India is now expected to be between Rs. 10k to Rs. 15k range.

Having said that for it’s price, it does pack a decent punch – Here are the specs for the phone.

As mentioned earlier, there are 2 variants of the phone – The cheaper Onyx version which features a sheet of black glass on the back, while the ceramic version has a ceramic back.

The OnePlus X features a 5-inch of Full HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 441 ppi, powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal Storage. As far the as the camera goes, it features a 13MP f/2.2 rear snapper equipped with ISOCELL technology. The company claims that this tech ensures that camera is faster than either OnePlus One or Two. The front-facing shooter is an 8MP with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera only supports full HD and does not have a 4K video recording capabilities.

Interestingly, the phone does not have a NFC and also does away with fingerprint sensor!

Luckily, the invite system will be in the first month only – From second month onwards (from December) the phone will be available in open sales.

As for the Ceramic Edition, only 10,000 of these limited edition models will be made and there will be a separate invite system for the same.
