You can either love him, or hate him.. But you certainly can’t ignore him.

Author and Self proclaimed ethical hacker Ankit Fadia has claimed that Govt. of India has appointed him as one of the brand ambassadors of Digital India vision.

Via Facebook post, he said, “Humbled and honored to be appointed as one of the Brand Ambassadors to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative.”

He shared few images of a function, and a certificate where it is mentioned that Govt. of India has appointed Ankit Fadia as the brand ambassador for Digital India program, for a period of one year.

As per this certificate, Ankit will propagate products and applications being launched under this program.

Is It True?

This announcement by Ankit Fadia has certainly raised some eye-brows. After all, despite being a hacker, he was not able to save his own website from hacking: not once, but twice.

There are huge doubts pertaining to this claim, as there has been no official announcement from the Government regarding this news.

Moreover, the certificate is dated July 1st, 2015, the day when PM Modi launched the massive Digital India Week in Delhi. Although reports had emerged that few selected achievers can be named as brand ambassador for the Digital India program, there has been no new update regarding the same.

Ankit-Fadia-CErtificate

The Hindu had speculated that billionaires Sachin and Binny Bansal, along with Micromax founder Rahul Sharma and Snapdeal founder Rohit Bansal can be part of this young team. But there was no mention of Ankit Fadia anywhere.

Additionally, Ankit has failed to show any image where he is being photographed receiving this certificate from PM Modi or any other Govt. official. On his Facebook page, he has shared his selfie along with generic, random images from the event.

The certificate is the only proof as of now, tampering which is a simple act actually.

To be very honest, we are in no position to either confirm or decline this news. Besides Ankit’s own Facebook update, there has been no major news coverage about this news.

We had earlier tried to ask this question: Is Ankit Fadia a fraudster or a brilliant brand builder? In 2013, Forbes Magazine had carried an excellent investigative story, about Ankit Fadia’s false claims and unverified victories.

We will keep you updated as more details come in.
