A recent study conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners & UBS have revealed that the demand for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have broken all records, and as per the data available, they have become the bestselling iPhone ever.

Over 90% of those consumers who have bought an iPhone within the first 30 days of the launch have bought iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. When Apple had launched iPhone 5S and 5C last year, then 84% of all buyers had chosen the new models in the first 30 days.

China is ditching Samsung for Apple

The research puts emphasis on the fact that the demand for the newer version of iPhone is maximum in China, where 19% of the respondents confirmed that they will stop using Samsung, and opt for Apple in the next 12 months. Overall, over 40% of those researched revealed that they will buy iPhone 6 or 6 plus by the time 2014 ends.

If we compare internally, then compared to 6 plus, iPhone 6 is in greater demand globally, whereas in China, 6 plus is generating more sales.

As per the report, “.. due to supply shortages, we don’t know the underlying 6 Plus demand. The Evidence Lab study suggests the 6 Plus could exceed expectations, especially in Asia.”

Despite Controversies iPhone Sales Are Booming

Although there had been some controversy on the quality of the materials used for the outer body of iPhone 6 and 6 plus, it made little damage on the overall demand for the handsets.

Few days after its launch, it was reported that the chassis of the phone can be bent if applied some pressure or if kept in the front pocket of jeans. The company had responded that out of 10 million units sold in the first three days, only 9 users had complained of this issue, termed as ‘#bendgate’ by social media users.

Some users also complained that the iPhone 6 models are ripping their hair off, if placed near the ears, which was termed as ‘Hairgate’ by some bloggers.

But despite all the controversies, the sales of iPhone 6 and 6Plus refuse to be let down, and the trends suggests that the company is well on it’s way to create another technological legacy.
