Flipkart Aggressively Pushing Moto G, Includes Rs. 1 Lakh Gift Voucher & 100% Cash Back

4

Since the launch of Moto G, it has been in headlines. And I am not talking about only India. The product has been a delight for both critics and users. It has the credentials of a high end phone with price that is superbly placed. While it has been launched in India only recently, the phone was sold out in minutes when it was first launched on Flipkart.

Flipkart has been offering various schemes as well to improve the sale further. A few days back, the phone was selling with a buyback offer of Rs. 2000 for your old phone. Now, Flipkart has come up with a new offer to promote the sales of the phone.

Under this scheme, one lucky buyer will get a voucher of Rs. 1,00,000 to buy anything from Flipkart. This is a huge sum and I envy the person who gets this. The primary reason for this is that Flipkart really has a wide range of items on its list and has something for everyone on store.

While the voucher is only valid for products sold by WS Retail, the items should still be enough for a person to not feel cheated by the prize. However, the voucher will be valid for one year only i.e. 30th April, 2015.

Aside from this single prize, 100 people will get a 100% cash back on their phone which will make their phone essentially free. Again, this is a very lucrative offer and more than the previous one, I believe it is this offer which will drive the sales for Flipkart. Reason for this is simple- Few believe they can win a one-in-a-million shot, but 100 prizes gives a person more confidence.

The terms of the offer are as follows:

  • Valid for purchases between April 13 to April 17.
  • To participate, buyer must answer whether Moto G runs on Android or not and send it with the order number via SMS to Flipkart. This should be done by April 30.
  • Winners will be declared on Flipkart’s Facebook Page on May 7.
  • Cancelled or Refunded orders are invalid. Replaced orders are game though.
  • Only the first message send will be considered so ensure to do it right the first time.

While, this won’t attract anyone holding a new Android phone, anyone who was thinking of changing a phone and was looking at the phones in the sub-15K range should find this a perfect time to buy the phone. In addition, anyone who is thinking of buying a phone in the next month should give serious thought to this opportunity.

Moto G is an excellent phone with a recommendation from every critic out there. Also, Flipkart is the sole seller of the device in India. This makes me wonder why such an aggressive marketing is needed for the phone. Is it not selling as well as they thought? Or do they want to clear their inventory for some new arrival? Or am I being paranoid here?

Whatever the reason, one thing is clear, if you are in the market for a new phone, give a serious look at Moto G on Flipkart, you may end up getting it free and if you are really lucky 1 Lakh prize is there for the taking!

I ordered Moto G yesterday and read below my ordeal:

    I feel sorry for Flipkart!

I had order a Moto G for a friend and has payed extra for a next day delivery, on the delivery early morning I get a message saying that

” We regret to inform you that our courier partner was unable to deliver following items in the Order OD40414064276. Please note that we have cancelled following items”.

After that I go online and have a chat session with a Flipkart Customer help desk (or whatever you guys call it) at the start after the exchange of pleasantries, the conversation with the helpdesk lady

    (Part I)

Me: I have received an email and a message which reads: “We regret to inform you that our courier partner was unable to deliver following items in the Order OD40414064276. Please note that we have cancelled following items .”
Divya: Be assured today till end of the day by 07:00 PM your consignment will be delivered to you as per our promised date with us.
Divya: I have noted your order concern and also your order ID for your better assistance.
Divya: You need not worry about this.
    Me: how?
ME: does that message and email mean nothing?
ME: I was planing to gift the order to a friend..
Divya: I humbly request you to wait till end of the day they will try their best to deliver today only.
ME: If you guys are not sure and committed about the delivery time and date even after paying Rs.90 extra. Then I doubt if i can trust flipkart again.
Divya: Be assured about our services today till end of the day by 07:00 PM your consignment will be delivered to you.
Divya: I will also personally follow up and ensure that the needful is done on priority.
ME: Can you please drop a me mail confirming the same?
ME: okay, if i believe you, I still want to know, why I got the cancellation email and message?
Communication with the RightNow Chat service has been lost. Please wait while attempts are made to restore the connection.
    Disconnection in 240 seconds.
    Connection resumed.
    Divya: Please ignore the mail.
ME: Can you please drop a me mail confirming the same?
Divya: Please give me a moment or minute while I check that for you.
    ME: okay
Divya: Thank you for staying online. I appreciate your time and patience.

    Part II:

When I insisted on getting a written assurance, the Part II of the conversation:

Divya: Please accept our sincere apologies for disappointing you.
Divya: As I see that just now ”Due to high demand for this item and in order to provide all customers an equal opportunity to avail this great deal we had to cancel your order”.
Divya: So our concerned team has cancelled your order just now.
    Me: so what now?
Divya: I will suggest you place the fresh order once again.
    Me: and then what
Me: wait one more day so that you guys cancel the order again
    Me : ?
Divya: Please accept our sincere apologies for disappointing you.
Divya: We are really sorry for that.
Me: Yes, I am not satisfied with your explanation.

So, after paying extra for the next day delivery: Flipkart cancels my order saying that
    “”

    What crap is this.

Note: I had ordered a Cell Phone and its cover via the COD method, after knowing that order for cell phone is not going to be delivered, I personally cancelled the order for the cell phone cover.

    Sundep Dange.
