UC Mobile Browser: The new kid on the block giving tough times to Opera & other mobile browsers

5

Mobile Browsers are now becoming as important as our traditional web browsers – Thanks to rise in mobile internet. Infact, Google India head – Rajan Anandan, recently quoted that 40% of all Google searches in India are done using mobile phones and nearly 67% e-commerce happens on mobile devices.

Even on trak.in, visitors coming from mobile device have increased significantly over past 12 to 18 months. Earlier we used to get about 2% to 3% of our traffic from mobile devices – and in last 12 months it has surged to 10% of overall traffic.

To ensure good experience for our mobile visitors, I was testing how trak.in loads on various mobile browsers. While doing my tests, I found UC browser was probably the best and fastest of the lot (I tested it on Android phone).

      Himanshu,

Its been a long time since you have commented on this blog – nice to see you here. I have tries UC Browser on Android and trust me it is better than opera and stock chrome browser. I have no idea of how UC browser behaves on Apple devices.

You may be right actually… it may not be that good on iPhone…

I have also used it on my Android phone and it’s working great. I think there is one problem that it doesn’t allows streaming links to play. Downloading speed is also good.
