What reality shows are doing for Indian society and some more ideas! [Media Monday]

27

Well, for quite sometime my posts have been more of news and less of insights. Hence today I thought of writing something which can make the left side of your Brain to work ;).

Reality shows as we know today is favourite genre of all Television producers. On one hand they generate good revenues for Television Industry and on the other hand they create a very good platform for thousands of Indian youngsters who want to achieve great things in their field of interests.

Be it Dancing, Singing, doing Comedy, modeling or other talent (India’s Got talent of Colors Channel), reality shows do give a hope to the parents of young children that there is more to life than being a Doctor or an Engineer.

Now there are some other reality shows which does no good for anyone but the Producers, but lets not talk about them. These shows help remove the phobia which typical Indian middle class parents have- what will happen to the future of my kid? It’s something what “B-Plan” contests in India do to startups like ours, they give our parents the confidence that their Children is doing something with full heart and efforts.

So, one side of these talent shows is really bright but there are some important aspects which are missing and with some of my own ideas I’ll try to fill that. I’m not going to give a complete execution details because that’s not my expertise here, but let’s see some of the Reality show ideas may or may not be in line with what is already happening in west-

  1. Expose Sporting Talent

Other than Cricket we don’t actually see a good career in any other sport in India. One of the main reasons for this is lack of interest from parent side to encourage their children to try different sports.
We can have a show combining various Sports (viz. running / swimming / shooting / wrestling etc) bundled in the form of a fun filled show, which can bring out the sporting talent of young kids. Something in the line of ‘Wipeout’ (which tests swimming skills and Stamina of contestants) or ‘American Gladiators’ (which tests wrestling skills and again the Stamina of contestants). These are actually fun-filled shows but also provide ample opportunity to show some real sporting talent.

  2. Expose Creative Talent-

Creativity is something which is very difficult to identify in kids, unless they are exposed to various forms of art/painting/planning exercises. Not only for kids, the Show can also be for teenagers studying Art/architecture/designing etc. It should not be just about fashion designing, as that’s the lucrative part, we should think something more subtle but more helpful for kids.

Do you also think in same lines, or you think that Television should remain a mode of entertainment only and such shows will never excite Television Producers? Do you have any other reality ideas to share in same lines? Comments are welcome :).

Today Reality Show Is Just Depend Upon… Producer who produce that show.. They say us pls vote for win whom you want.. but it fake.. all judgments are depend upon director,producer..who win or who lost the.. stage… And whenever new movie made.. they promot their film via this show.. so i just say that,, “sometimes it is true or sometimes it is fake”..

first I want to say that how many thigs or person are involve in realty show.sponshers , media channels , producer , parrents and particepents now than think with that material. here no one want to do socail work for that paricipents are the product and others are getting advantage. it's a total business plan and commercialisation of the child or participents as human.
