22 Companies To Face Two-Year Non-Cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe decision was taken by the All IITs Placement Committee (AIPC), the central body responsible for coordinating placement and internship guidelines across the IITs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The committee plans to formally inform the affected companies by September 30. Rather than calling the action a “blacklisting”, IITs will describe it as “non-cooperation”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The companies will consequently not be considered for recruitment through the IIT campus placement system for the next two placement seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cases involve more than 150 unhonoured offers across 23 IITs. Some companies reportedly withdrew between 10 and 15 offers each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oracle Reportedly Withdrew Around 40 Offers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nOracle is among the companies reportedly facing the two-year restriction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to campus sources, the technology company failed to honour around 40 offers made to students across IITs. Oracle has also reportedly not approached the IITs for campus recruitment this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company has undergone significant workforce restructuring globally, including job cuts in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oracle had previously withdrawn dozens of offers made to students at IITs and NITs, including both full-time positions and internship opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students Left Searching For Jobs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe withdrawal of campus offers has created significant uncertainty for students who had already secured employment through the highly competitive IIT placement process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the placement season nearing its end, students whose offers were withdrawn had limited time to find alternative opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
IIT placement offices have been trying to reduce the impact by sharing the resumes of affected students with companies that are continuing to recruit on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the AIPC, an estimated 20% to 30% of students in this group have managed to secure jobs through such cross-referrals. However, there is no complete figure for how many students remain without employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highest Number Of Unhonoured Offers In Recent Years<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe scale of the issue is significantly larger than last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AIPC said around 10 to 11 companies failed to honour offers last year. This year’s figure is described as the highest in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final list of companies and the exact number of unhonoured offers is still being compiled as individual IITs submit updated information to the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several startups are also reportedly among the companies facing action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
IITs Seek To Protect Campus Placement System<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe two-year non-cooperation decision is intended to address the immediate impact on affected students while also maintaining confidence in the IIT placement process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
