The State Bank of India (SBI) has opened applications for several senior-level positions, including a Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) role with annual compensation of up to Rs 2.5 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recruitment drive comes as banks and financial institutions continue to expand their focus on cybersecurity, technology and digital operations. SBI has invited experienced professionals to apply for these specialised positions under its contractual recruitment programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SBI Group CISO Role Offers Up To Rs 2.5 Crore<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Group CISO position is one of the key openings in the latest recruitment drive<\/a>. The selected professional will be responsible for leading SBI’s cybersecurity strategy, information security framework and security operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position carries an annual compensation of up to Rs 2.5 crore. However, the final compensation is negotiable and will depend on the candidate’s experience and suitability for the role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position is expected to be based in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Can Apply For The Group CISO Position?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The role is aimed at highly experienced IT and information security professionals. Applicants must be Indian citizens and should not be more than 57 years old as of August 31, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates are required to have 15 to 20 years of post-qualification experience in information technology or information security. The eligibility requirements also specify relevant experience in banks, financial institutions, large corporates, PSUs, financial services organisations or technology and financial consulting firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least five years of experience should be in information security, cybersecurity or cyber defence at the senior management level in banks or financial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Qualification Required<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates can apply with a BTech or BE degree in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electronics and Communications Engineering or Cyber Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BTech or BE qualification requires at least 50% marks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates with an MCA, MTech or MSc in the specified technology-related disciplines can also apply, subject to SBI’s eligibility conditions. Qualifications must be from recognised institutions or those approved by the relevant regulatory authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications Open Until September 24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application process for the Group CISO position began on September 4, 2026. Eligible candidates have until September 24, 2026, to submit their applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SBI will shortlist candidates based on the criteria specified in the recruitment notification, after which shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Senior Positions At SBI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SBI has also announced other contractual openings, including positions for Dean, Faculty and Marketing Executive. These roles are associated with the State Bank Institute of Leadership in Kolkata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dean position carries annual compensation of up to Rs 98 lakh, while the Faculty role offers up to Rs 63 lakh. The Marketing Executive position has an annual package of up to Rs 52 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These positions have a separate application window, with applications scheduled to remain open until October 6, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
