Apple’s long-rumoured entry into the foldable smartphone market could come with a price tag unlike any previous iPhone. A new leak suggests the company’s first foldable iPhone could cost around $2,300 in the US<\/strong>, while the reported Indian price could reach an eye-watering \u20b92.8 lakh<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple has not officially confirmed the device, its specifications or its pricing. However, reports have increasingly pointed towards a launch around the company’s September 9 event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.8-Inch Display With Book-Style Design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foldable iPhone is expected to use a book-style design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports suggest it could feature a 7.8-inch internal display<\/strong> when unfolded and a 5.5-inch external display<\/strong> when closed. The larger screen is expected to offer a more tablet-like experience for multitasking, browsing, gaming and entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inner display could use a 4:3 aspect ratio, giving the unfolded phone a wider workspace than a conventional smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Touch ID Could Replace Face ID<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most interesting reported changes is Apple’s potential return to Touch ID<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foldable could use a fingerprint sensor built into its side button instead of Face ID. The reason may be Apple’s aggressive thickness targets, as the additional hardware required for Face ID could be difficult to accommodate in an extremely thin foldable chassis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The device is reportedly around 4.5mm thick when unfolded<\/strong> and approximately 9.5mm when folded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foldable iPhone is also rumoured to use Apple’s next-generation A20 chip<\/strong>, reportedly based on a 2nm manufacturing process, paired with 12GB of RAM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It could also feature Apple’s next-generation C2 modem and run iOS 27 with software optimisations designed specifically for the foldable form factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite its expected ultra-premium positioning, the foldable may use a dual-camera setup rather than a triple-camera system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
