Uttar Pradesh has emerged as India’s most employable state<\/strong> in the India Skills Report 2026, <\/a>moving ahead of Maharashtra and Karnataka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report shows that India’s overall employability rate has improved from 54.81% in 2025 to 56.35% in 2026<\/strong>, indicating a gradual improvement in the readiness of India’s workforce for employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The findings are based on inputs from more than one lakh candidates<\/strong> who participated in the Global Employability Test, along with responses from more than 1,000 organisations across seven industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Uttar Pradesh taking the top position is particularly significant because Maharashtra and Karnataka have traditionally been viewed as India’s leading employment and technology centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    India’s overall employability rate has risen to 56.35% in 2026<\/strong>, compared with 54.81% in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
