An undercover investigation has exposed an alleged organised network supplying fake paneer, adulterated milk and synthetic khoya across Delhi-NCR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The investigation, conducted in February 2026, traced the supply chain from manufacturing units in Mewat, Haryana<\/strong>, around 130 km from Delhi<\/strong>, to distribution centres and dairy operators in Delhi, Shamli and Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The probe found makeshift factories producing paneer using ingredients such as soybean extract, palm oil, vanaspati, milk powder, baking soda and Selkhadi (soapstone\/talc powder)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fake Paneer Sold For As Little As \u20b980 Per Kg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The investigation found several grades of paneer being offered to bulk buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One trader offered paneer at \u20b9190, \u20b9160 and \u20b9120-130 per kg<\/strong>, depending on the ingredients used. Another operator offered soybean paneer for around \u20b9150 per kg<\/strong>, refined-oil-mixed paneer for \u20b9200 per kg<\/strong>, and pure milk paneer for \u20b9290 per kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At another unit, a third-grade product described as “Ragdu” paneer was offered for just \u20b980 per kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The price raises serious questions because producing one kilogram of genuine paneer typically requires 4.5-5 litres of full-cream milk or 6-7 litres of regular milk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One Supplier Claimed To Send 4,000 Kg Daily<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The scale of the alleged operation was also striking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One supplier claimed to send between 3,400 and 4,000 kg of paneer every day to Gurgaon<\/strong>, through 18-19 customers<\/strong>. Another operator claimed his products reached 10-15 distribution centres in Delhi<\/strong>, including Azadpur Mandi, Nangloi and Dwarka Mor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the wedding season, one trader said daily demand increased from around 1,200-1,300 kg to more than 2,200 kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Adulterated Milk Sold In Three Grades<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The investigation also uncovered an alleged adulterated milk operation in Bhausni village, Shamli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A wholesaler offered three grades of milk \u2014 high quality, medium quality and cheap adulterated milk \u2014 priced between \u20b935 and \u20b960 per litre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the wholesaler, skimmed milk was mixed with baking soda and Dalda or ghee<\/strong> to artificially increase fat content. He claimed that 1 kg of ghee and baking soda could be mixed with 30 kg of skimmed milk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Synthetic Khoya Made Using Soapstone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The investigation then reached Baghpat, where an operator claimed to manufacture synthetic khoya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"Sting](\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Screenshot-2026-08-08-at-9.48.19-AM-1024x589.png\")
