Telangana has become home to what is being described as the world’s first ethanol-based EV charging technology, marking a significant step towards cleaner and more sustainable electric mobility. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy hailed the initiative as a major green energy milestone, saying it combines the benefits of electric mobility with India’s growing focus on ethanol as an alternative fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The technology is expected to strengthen EV infrastructure, particularly in locations where conventional power connectivity is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 150kW Fast Charger Powered By Ethanol<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The newly introduced system is a 150kW rapid EV charger<\/strong> that generates electricity using ethanol instead of relying entirely on the power grid. Unlike traditional charging stations that often require extensive electrical infrastructure and long installation timelines, the ethanol-powered unit can be deployed much more quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The charging technology is designed to provide fast charging for electric vehicles while reducing dependence on fossil-fuel-powered generators in remote and off-grid locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lower Emissions And Faster Deployment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the biggest advantages of the new technology is its environmental impact. The system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to diesel-powered alternatives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another major benefit is deployment speed. The charging unit can reportedly become operational within 72 hours<\/strong>, significantly faster than conventional charging stations that require grid approvals and infrastructure development. The technology is also expected to reduce installation costs and setup time by more than 50%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Supporting India’s Green Mobility Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The initiative aligns with India’s broader efforts to promote cleaner transportation and increase the use of ethanol as an alternative fuel.
