The attackers are impersonating the Income Tax Department<\/strong> by sending official-looking emails and documents that trick victims into downloading malware capable of taking complete control of their computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How The Scam Works<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victims receive emails that closely resemble official communication from the Income Tax Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The messages often contain tax notices, compliance warnings or penalty-related documents and create a sense of urgency by asking recipients to respond within a limited time. Clicking the attachment or embedded link redirects users to a fake website that downloads a malicious ZIP or executable file disguised as a tax document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
