What Exactly Happened?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The damaged portion was reported near Korari village in Unnao district<\/strong>, where the upper asphalt layer peeled off after continuous rainfall. Initial reports and viral videos claimed that a section of the expressway had caved in, but highway authorities later clarified that the problem was confined to the wearing coat of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to officials, around 40 metres<\/strong> of the surface layer experienced slippage, while the foundation and structural components of the expressway remained intact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NHAI Clarifies It Was Not A Road Collapse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Responding to public concerns, NHAI stated that the incident should not be described as a road cave-in. Officials explained that a genuine cave-in occurs when the soil beneath the road settles, causing the entire roadway to sink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this case, only the top asphalt layer was affected due to technical reasons following heavy rain.
