The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced two major digital features on the RajmargYatra Mobile App<\/strong>\u2014the Digital Local Pass<\/strong> and the MargMitra Help Centre<\/strong>\u2014to make highway travel faster, smarter and more convenient. The new services eliminate paperwork, reduce the need to visit toll plazas and provide commuters with real-time digital assistance, in line with the government’s Digital India and Ease of Living initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move is expected to significantly improve the travel experience for millions of National Highway users across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buy Local Toll Passes Online<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, eligible commuters can now purchase a Local Toll Pass<\/strong> digitally through the RajmargYatra app without visiting a toll plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility has been launched initially at the Mundka\u2013Bakkarwala Toll Plaza<\/strong> on Delhi’s Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)<\/strong><\/a> and will be expanded to other toll plazas across India in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents living within a 20-kilometre radius<\/strong> of an eligible toll plaza can purchase a monthly local pass digitally, allowing unlimited travel<\/strong> through the respective toll plaza during the validity period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No More Manual Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, commuters had to physically visit toll plazas and submit documents to prove their eligibility for a local pass. Under the new system, the entire process can now be completed digitally within minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform integrates with DigiLocker<\/strong> and VAHAN<\/strong> using a consent-based framework to automatically verify the commuter’s address, vehicle registration details and linked FASTag, making the approval process faster and more secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MargMitra Offers Real-Time Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NHAI has also launched MargMitra<\/strong>, an intelligent digital help centre integrated into the RajmargYatra app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service enables users to track complaints in real time, file appeals if they are dissatisfied with resolutions, check FASTag blacklisting status, view pending e-notices and report road safety issues such as stalled vehicles, accidents or encroachments on National Highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feature aims to provide a single digital platform for addressing commuter concerns efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

80 Lakh Annual Passes Already Sold<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest additions build on the growing success of the RajmargYatra platform. According to NHAI, more than 80 lakh Annual Passes<\/strong> have already been sold through the mobile application with real-time activation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authority expects the new digital services to further increase adoption of the app while reducing congestion and paperwork at toll plazas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards Smarter Highway Travel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NHAI continues to expand digital services to improve transparency, efficiency and user convenience across India’s National Highway network. By integrating digital verification, online pass issuance and intelligent customer support into a single platform, the RajmargYatra app is expected to make highway travel safer, faster and more seamless for commuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
