Cargo operations also remained strong, with the airport handling 532,000 metric tonnes during the financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International Traffic Drives Growth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>International passenger traffic emerged as the biggest contributor to the airport\u2019s growth during the year. BIAL said international traffic rose 23.9% to 7.23 million passengers, while domestic traffic grew 3.3% to 37.24 million passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airport officials stated that the growth reflected Bengaluru\u2019s expanding role as a global business, technology, and innovation hub. The airport currently offers direct connectivity to more than 78 domestic and 34 international destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flight Operations Reach Record Levels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Operational activity at the airport also witnessed growth alongside rising passenger traffic. BLR Airport recorded approximately 280,800 air traffic movements during FY 2025-26, marking a 4.5% increase compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, the airport averaged around 769 flights daily during the year. The busiest day reportedly saw more than 1.4 lakh passengers and 837 flight movements handled in a single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cargo Operations Continue To Expand<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cargo movement also remained a major contributor to Bengaluru airport\u2019s overall performance. Exports of electronics, pharmaceuticals, flowers, and agricultural products helped drive cargo growth during the financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport handled nearly 60 million rose stems during the year, while mango exports reportedly touched a five-year high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Global Rankings And Expansion Plans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Kempegowda International Airport also improved its position in global airport rankings during the year. According to reports, the airport climbed from 48th to 41st position in the Skytrax World Top 100 Airports rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bengaluru airport has continued expanding its infrastructure and international connectivity in recent years to support rising passenger demand. Industry observers have noted that the airport is strengthening its position as one of India\u2019s leading aviation and transit hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru has crossed the 400 million passenger milestone since beginning operations.
