satellites<\/strong>, is now running with just <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/india\/setback-for-forces-as-navic-goes-down-to-3-sats-ex-iaf-chief-calls-desi-navigation-system-a-failure\/articleshow\/130478032.cms\">3 fully functional ones<\/a><\/strong>, well below the required threshold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For accurate <strong>positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT)<\/strong> services, at least <strong>4 satellites are essential<\/strong>, meaning the system is currently <strong>critically impaired<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This drop significantly limits NavIC\u2019s ability to provide precise navigation services across India and nearby regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ex-IAF Chief Calls It a \u201cFailure\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding to the concern, a former Indian Air Force chief has reportedly termed the current state of NavIC a <strong>\u201cfailure\u201d<\/strong>, pointing to its
