The findings were alarming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goa recorded the <strong>highest concentration of toxic Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)<\/strong>\u2014ranging from 1.9 to 29,500 ng\/g in plastic pellets, significantly higher than other regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These toxic chemicals are known to originate from petroleum products and combustion processes, making them dangerous contaminants in marine environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Microplastics Are a Bigger Threat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Microplastics\u2014tiny plastic particles found across oceans\u2014are acting as <strong>carriers of toxic pollutants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to their small size and large surface area, these particles absorb harmful chemicals and transport them across marine ecosystems.
