Out of this, <strong>31 km will be elevated<\/strong>, making it the longest flyover corridor in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The elevated road is expected to start near <strong>Kharadi in Pune<\/strong> and extend toward <strong>Ranjangaon MIDC near Shirur<\/strong>, a major industrial hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This section currently experiences heavy traffic due to a mix of urban vehicles, long-distance transport trucks, and industrial freight movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Six-Lane Elevated Highway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposed flyover will be a <strong>six-lane elevated highway<\/strong>, designed to support high-speed traffic and reduce delays caused by signals, intersections, and local traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By separating through-traffic from local roads, the elevated corridor will allow smoother vehicle movement and significantly cut travel time for commuters and transport vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is part of a larger infrastructure push involving <strong>multiple highway projects worth around \u20b945,000 crore<\/strong> aimed at improving connectivity around Pune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Boost for Industry and Logistics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pune\u2013Nagar corridor connects several key economic zones, including <strong>IT hubs, residential areas, and major industrial clusters like Ranjangaon MIDC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Improved connectivity through the elevated corridor could benefit logistics operations, reduce transportation costs, and support industrial growth in eastern Maharashtra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Better road infrastructure is also expected to attract new investments and support faster movement of goods between Pune, Ahmednagar, and other regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Major Infrastructure Milestone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If completed as planned, the <strong>31-km elevated corridor will surpass existing elevated roads in India<\/strong>, setting a new benchmark for highway infrastructure in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Pune residents and daily commuters, the project promises to bring long-awaited relief from traffic congestion while strengthening regional connectivity and economic activity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The central government is planning to build India\u2019s longest flyover, a massive 31-kilometre elevated road on the Pune\u2013Nagar National Highway.
