After the much needed Centre\u2019s discussions with the Karnataka government on land acquisition and alignment planning, the proposed Bengaluru-Hyderabad Bullet Train, is now gaining momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaching Bengaluru to Hyderabad in Just 2 Hours<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier on February 1, the Union Budget announced the 626 km corridor aims to reduce Bengaluru to Hyderabad travel time to just 2 hours which is also known as the high-speed rail project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After its construction, it is going to be one of the fastest inter-city connections planned in South India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the trains between Bengaluru and Hyderabad take anywhere from 8 to 19 hours depending on the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, Vande Bharat trains take more than 8 hours and flights may take around 1 hour 15 minutes in the air, although the overall travel time increases due to airport check-ins, security, and city traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this scenario, the new bullet train is going to be a game changer as it promises near city-to-city 2-hour connectivity. This could significantly benefit business travellers, IT professionals and frequent commuters between the two tech hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high-speed rail corridor will stretch about 626 km and include around 12 stations across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as per their initial plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of these, Karnataka, most likely to have three stations including Alipura (Gauribidanur taluk), Devanahalli (near Bengaluru airport) and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kodihalli (Bengaluru Rural district).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here mentioned Kodihalli, is expected to become a major interchange station, especially if the proposed Bengaluru-Chennai bullet train line is routed through the same location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bengaluru-Hyderabad Bullet Train Speed & Talks On Karnataka Land Acquisition Commenced <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the route enters Karnataka it is expected to have stops in Mahbubnagar, Kurnool, Anantapur and Hindupur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming to the bullet train, it is expected to run at a design speed of 350 kmph and an operational speed of around 320 kmph. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the construction of this corridor, it will largely be built on elevated tracks along a new alignment, separate from existing railway lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presently, final surveys are being conducted by RITES Limited, and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is likely to be submitted by March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this, land acquisition is going to be the key focus area in Karnataka as the Centre has asked the state to appoint a nodal officer to speed up coordination and approvals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this regard, the Karnataka Infrastructure Development Minister M. B. Patil has assured full cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once this corridor gets completed as planned, the Bengaluru-Hyderabad bullet train<\/a> (high-speed rail) could transform travel between the two cities, offering faster connectivity, boosting business travel and strengthening economic ties in South India.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
