In an effort to handle the heavy rush-hour footfall and make boarding safer and more organised for daily commuters, the Western Railway has recently introduced a new crowd-management system at Nalasopara railway station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Rush Hour Rules For Nalasopara Station<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the Nalasopara station, it  often witnesses large crowds especially during peak hours further leading to pushing, arguments and confusion on the platforms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to deal with this chaos, railway officials have now introduced a queue system on a trial basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This system has been already implemented on Platform No. 1 since February 18 as per the media report<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The passengers must stand in two queues while waiting to board local trains and allow commuters to exit completely before entering the coach as mentioned in the new rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have deployed extra security staff just to ensure that this plan runs smoothly as a total of 22 personnel have been assigned, including 13 from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and 9 from the Maharashtra Security Force (MSF). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All these officers belong to Nalasopara, Virar, Borivali, Bhayander, Vasai Road, Palghar and Dahanu Road and have been brought in for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Markings To Guide Passengers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have drawn special markings which are painted on the platform to help commuters understand where to stand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, green markings show where passengers should line up to board the train, while yellow markings indicate space for those getting off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some videos, they have shown \u2018Q\u2019 patterns drawn on the platform to guide movement and reduce chaos during busy hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This step will help control crowd flow and improve safety, especially when trains arrive packed, the officials believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increase In Number Of Train Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this queue system, the Western Railway has also increased the number of train services from February 19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Western Railway has introduced twelve additional AC local services, out of these, 11 will replace existing non-AC services, and one will be a completely new AC train. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, three new non-AC services have also been added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the total number of AC services has reportedly gone up from 121 to 133 after these latest additions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Western Railway\u2019s overall number of local services on the network has increased from 1,410 to 1,414.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the weekends,  AC services have also been increased from 77 to 106. In addition to this, a slow local that earlier ran from Bhayandar to Bandra will now originate from Virar for improving connectivity for commuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
