The total assistance initially comes to <strong>about \u20b956,000<\/strong> through scheduled payments, which <strong>accrue interest over time<\/strong> and mature into a <strong>sum exceeding \u20b91 lakh<\/strong> by the time the beneficiary completes graduation or turns 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These milestone deposits are made to encourage continued schooling and include support at <strong>birth, admission to primary and higher classes, passing board exams, and entry into higher education<\/strong>. Once the beneficiary completes <strong>Class XII<\/strong> and turns 18, or completes graduation\/diploma at age 21, she can claim the matured amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Expanded Eligibility and Digital Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme aims for <strong>greater inclusion and transparency<\/strong> by digitising the application and payment system. Families must register the birth of the girl child within a year or when she enters school, and can apply online without visiting government offices. The scheme now also covers girls pursuing higher education anywhere in India, as long as they are enrolled in recognised institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligibility conditions require that the beneficiary be a <strong>Delhi resident<\/strong>, with a family income below a defined threshold, and apply within specified timeframes.
