Apple appears poised to expand its physical retail footprint in India, with Hyderabad emerging<\/a> as the likely next destination for a new Apple Store. While the company has not formally announced the launch, strong signals are already in place. Apple has begun hiring for three key retail roles\u2014store leader, senior manager and manager\u2014through its official website, with all positions based in Hyderabad. The recruitment drive has fuelled speculation that the company is preparing to open its seventh store in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple entered India\u2019s brick-and-mortar retail space in 2023, opening two flagship stores in quick succession\u2014Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi. The momentum continued in 2025 with three more outlets: Apple Koregaon Park in Pune, Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru, and Apple Noida in the Delhi-NCR region. With five stores currently operational, Apple is clearly accelerating its retail strategy. Only recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that a sixth store\u2014Apple\u2019s second in Mumbai\u2014is on the way, though without a specific timeline. If the Hyderabad store materialises as expected, it will mark the company\u2019s seventh retail location in India and reinforce its intent to rapidly deepen market access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retail Success Fuels Expansion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple\u2019s aggressive expansion is being powered by strong performance at its existing stores. Globally positioned as cultural and experiential hubs, Apple Stores attract customers not just to purchase products, but to engage with trained staff, attend sessions and immerse themselves in the brand ecosystem. According to Cook, this strategy is paying off. \u201cIn retail, we continue to bring a magical experience to our customers all around the world, and we were thrilled to have our best-ever results in retail during the quarter. We were excited to open our fifth store in India in December and have plans to open another store in Mumbai soon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond retail design, initiatives such as trade-in programmes, discounts and a broad premium product lineup are driving higher adoption. The impact is visible in financial results. \u201cWe did set a quarterly revenue record during the December quarter, and to go a little further down, we set quarterly revenue records on iPhone and Mac and iPad, and an all-time revenue record on services. So, it was a terrific quarter in India. We really like what we see there,\u201d Cook said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting this momentum, Counterpoint Research data recently placed Apple among India\u2019s top five smartphone brands by sales volume, with the iPhone 16 emerging as the world\u2019s top-selling smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With every new storefront, Apple plants another seed, quietly reshaping India\u2019s premium retail landscape.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
