Whatsapp Launch New Features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the parent company Meta has other innovations planned which includes a feature for iOS users to be able to share their chat history with new group members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are wondering about the sources of this information, this report<\/a> comes from the authoritative WhatsApp watcher, WABetaInfo, which warns that the new features are not quite live yet, but are on the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the calling capabilities for the web client, it has been partially previewed before, but it hasn’t come to fruition yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WhatsApp Web Voice And Video Calls Features <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving ahead, this report mentioned, \u201cif you are using a computer that is not your own, you can rely on WhatsApp Web to place calls without installing a native or hybrid desktop app.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 This simply means that users would be able to control call notifications they receive from WhatsApp Web.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also means that features currently available on the Android and iOS apps will be more widely accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving ahead, the report mentioned, \u201cFollowing recent updates to the WhatsApp Web beta, we discovered that WhatsApp is actively developing voice and video calls for group chats.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In simple words, you can join a call whether you\u2019re on your iPhone, Android phone or desktop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the unaware, this flexibility is already offered by its rival such as FaceTime, where you can hand off calls from one device to another seamlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there is a catch as FaceTime only works on Apple devices on the other hand WhatsApp covers Android and PC as well. This is also one of the reasons it has grown so fast, outside the U.S., at least.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now coming to the group calls, it could mean that group calls could support up to 32 participants, though likely a smaller number at first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to WABetaInfo, \u201cThis added compatibility will ensure that all users can participate in group calls, regardless of the device they are using.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also the alignment of the way the different platforms is expected to grow, with users \u201cto instantly generate a shareable link that others can use to join the call. When creating a call link, users will be able to choose whether it is for a voice or video call, just as they can on WhatsApp for Android and iOS,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, there will be capabilities to schedule calls, both for individual and group chats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far a date is not decided for the features to go live, but this flexibility of calling has been long requested and it\u2019s likely to arrive in weeks rather than months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a feature which was previously intended for Android users is coming to iOS as well said WABetaInfo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Basically this feature allows new group members to receive messages shared before they joined the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report, \u201cThis makes it easier for users to understand the purpose of the group and why it has been created. Instead of asking others to provide a summary or send a screenshot of previous messages, users can automate the process and receive previous messages when consent has been granted for sharing.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
