{"id":1304584,"date":"2026-01-07T08:23:56","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T02:53:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1304584"},"modified":"2026-01-07T08:24:25","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T02:54:25","slug":"in-19-states-citizens-can-now-download-digital-land-records-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/in-19-states-citizens-can-now-download-digital-land-records-2\/","title":{"rendered":"In 19 States, Citizens Can Now Download Digital Land Records"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Citizens in 19 states are now able to download digitally signed and legally valid land records from their homes, and banks in 406 districts can verify mortgages online, which the government says has greatly reduced delays in accessing credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Untitled-design-9-3-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1304597\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Untitled-design-9-3-1.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Untitled-design-9-3-1-300x140.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Untitled-design-9-3-1-768x357.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Land Resources has reached near-complete coverage of key land record digitisation components, <a href=\"https:\/\/nagalandtribune.in\/citizens-in-19-states-can-download-digital-valid-land-records-govt\/#:~:text=Citizens%20in%2019%20states%20can%20now%20download%20digitally%20signed%2C%20legally,access%2C%20according%20to%20the%20government\">effectively<\/a> moving land administration from being handled \u201cin-line\u201d to fully \u201conline.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>India\u2019s Land Records Go Fully Digital, Expanding Online Access and Faster Credit Verification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Rural Development reported that computerisation of Records of Rights (RoRs) has been completed in 97.27 per cent of villages across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same update noted that cadastral maps have been digitised for 97.14 per cent of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 84.89 per cent of villages have successfully linked their textual Records of Rights with spatial cadastral maps, integrating ownership details with geographic data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To address urban land management challenges, the NAKSHA (National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations) pilot programme has shown fast progress across 157 Urban Local Bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aerial surveys were completed in 116 Urban Local Bodies, meeting 87 per cent of the planned targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These aerial operations covered a total area of 5,915 square kilometres using high-resolution imagery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGround Truthing was initiated in 72 ULBs, with 100 per cent completion achieved in 21 cities,\u201d according to the Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u20b91,050 Crore Recommended Under SASCI 2025\u201326 to Support State Capital Investment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) 2025\u201326, the Department recommended \u20b91,050 crore in funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This funding was allocated to 24 states and Union Territories that met specific NAKSHA-related milestones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN), a 14-digit alphanumeric code based on geo-coordinates, has been positioned as the \u201cAadhaar for Land.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of November 2025, ULPINs have been assigned to more than 36 crore land parcels across 29 states and Union Territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry stated that the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) has simplified property transactions and supported \u201cEase of Doing Business.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NGDRS has been rolled out in 17 states and Union Territories, including Punjab, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 88.6 per cent of Sub-Registrar Offices are now integrated with revenue offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This integration allows automatic mutation of land records immediately after property registration, reducing manual processing and delays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Citizens in 19 states are now able to download digitally signed and legally valid land records from their homes, and banks in 406 districts can verify mortgages online, which the government says has greatly reduced delays in accessing credit.
