The new corridor will connect <strong>Nashik, Ahmednagar and Akkalkot<\/strong>, forming a critical missing link between western and southern highway networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed for high-speed and uninterrupted travel, the highway will support average speeds of around <strong>100 kmph<\/strong>, compared to the current average of about 60 kmph on existing routes. This upgrade will significantly improve both passenger and freight movement across multiple states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Travel Time Cut by Nearly 45%<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once operational, the new corridor will reduce <strong>Surat\u2013Chennai road travel time from roughly 31 hours to 17 hours<\/strong> \u2014 a reduction of around <strong>45 percent<\/strong>. The distance between key nodes such as Nashik and Solapur will also shrink, improving overall route efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For long-haul truck operators, logistics firms and inter-state travellers, this translates into faster deliveries, lower fuel consumption, reduced driver fatigue, and better utilisation of vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Economic and Logistics Impact<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The highway is expected to deliver wide-ranging economic benefits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Boost to logistics efficiency<\/strong> across western and southern India<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Faster movement of industrial goods, agricultural produce and exports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduced transportation costs for businesses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved access to interior regions and industrial clusters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By offering an alternative high-capacity corridor to existing routes, the project will ease congestion on traditional highways and support growing freight demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Execution and Employment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The highway will be developed under the <strong>build-operate-transfer (BOT) model<\/strong>, bringing in private investment alongside government support.
