As per the minister\u2019s written reply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sleeper Class:<\/strong> 6 to 7 lower berths per coach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3AC Class:<\/strong> 4 to 5 lower berths per coach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2AC Class:<\/strong> 3 to 4 lower berths per coach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These allocations are part of a <strong>combined quota system<\/strong> and are assigned automatically during ticket generation, subject to availability at the time of booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, if any lower berths fall vacant during the journey, <strong>priority reallocation is given to senior citizens, pregnant women and differently-abled passengers<\/strong> who may have initially been assigned middle or upper berths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Reservation for Persons with Disabilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian Railways also continues to maintain <strong>mandatory reservation provisions for persons with disabilities and their attendants<\/strong> in all mail and express trains, including premium services such as Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The allocation includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sleeper &amp; 3AC\/3E:<\/strong> 4 berths per coach (2 lower + 2 middle)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2S\/CC (Chair Car):<\/strong> 4 reserved seats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These provisions ensure better accessibility and travel comfort for Divyangjan passengers and their companions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accessibility Upgrades in Modern Trains<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister highlighted several infrastructure enhancements introduced in newer trains, particularly in <strong>Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat services<\/strong>, to support disabled and elderly passengers. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wider coach entrances and berths<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enlarged, wheelchair-friendly toilets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grab rails and wash basins placed at accessible heights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dedicated wheelchair parking zones<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Braille-enabled signage for visually impaired passengers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In Vande Bharat trains, the <strong>first and last coaches are specifically modified<\/strong> for wheelchair access and disability-friendly sanitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Passenger Welfare Takes Priority<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The clarification reinforces Indian Railways\u2019 ongoing efforts to make long-distance train travel <strong>more inclusive, accessible and senior-friendly<\/strong>.
